Chandler & Price Co. Proof Press - Cleveland, Ohio
Age: 1900s, Size: 12" wide
In 1881, Harrison T. Chandler, a banker, and William H. Price, press builder, formed Chandler & Price Co. in Cleveland, OH. Well known as platen press producer, C & P also made proof presses, guillotines, and other printing related equipment and accessories.
Simple in design, the C & P proof press was designed for quick proving of jobs, and is conveniently fitted with an enclosed storage area underneath.
The C & P proofer was acquired by us from Keith Watkins print shop in Logan, Utah. The Watkins Collection includes the Adams Acorn Press, St. Louis Foundry Iron Press, Linotype #14 typecaster, and more.
