The Hot Metal Revival: the 1925 Intertype Linecaster

A couple of decades after its restoration in 2000, with a plant move and several relocations, the Intertype needs a little "TLC". When done, it will rejoin the other working machines in the Collection – ready and able to be demonstrated for the museum’s visitors.

We recently opened our doors to welcome Girls in Science group from Oakville and Mississauga. CAGIS is Canada's largest and longest-running STEM Club for girls and gender diverse youth.

What a fun evening we had with the Cub Scouts! Learning by doing is one of the Scouting methods – hopefully, the visit to the HIW museum this evening will inspire one or more Cubs to learn more about printing, art, history and beyond.
