Description:
Preceded by Apple Macintosh 128K, of the famed Steve Jobs’ video presentation of “1984”, and the 256K, the Macintosh Plus, was launched in January 1986. Retaining the compact body style, the Macintosh Plus was much more powerful with a huge 1Mb memory, and a built-in double-sided 3.5” floppy drive.
Although popular, Macintosh Plus had its share of issues one being overheating due to the lack of cooling fan. It was preferred by designers, owing to the early adoption of Adobe products. Apple invested $2.5 million in Adobe in 1985 for software development. As technology advances, the Apple-Adobe relationship wasn’t always cozy, as loyalty, on both sides, seemingly had shifted.
