Born in Kenton, Manitoba, Clair Stewart (1910-2008) has been credited with having shaped Canada’s visual landscape through his work in graphic designs he created during his tenure with Rolph Clark Stone and later at his own ad agency, Stewart & Morrison.
An Order of Canada recipient, Stewart’s legacy and influence can be found in iconic logos - CN Rail, Air Canada, CTV, Bank of Montreal, Seagrams, etc. We’re honoured to have been entrusted with a large collection of lithographic stones, which were donated to the museum by the Stewart Family.
