Clements Library acquires an 1851 Columbian Iron Press from Howard Iron Works


Ryerson Students Visited HIW Museum

Prof. Art Seto and about 40 Ryerson students visited HIW Museum recently. The students were from Mr. Seto's The Art of The Book course, as well as some from the Letterpress Club. The students showed great enthusiasm and interest in learning about the history and technological developments in printing and bookbinding machinery. HIW Collection includes the early iron and platen presses, cylinder presses, as well as some early offset examples, composing and typesetter equipment, ephemeral items and posters.
