Description:

Karl Krause formed his business in 1855. From his first factory in Leipzig, Krause manufactured hundreds of different machines, mostly for the bookbinding and paper cutting industry. In addition to those, Krause also produced calendering, arming and embossing machines, including hot foil blocking presses.

By 1896, Karl Krause factory in Leipzig employed 600 workers, and was the leading company in the industry. Shown here is a table top hot foil blocking press, one of the many Krause products being represented in our Collection.
