When Miehle Printing Press and Manufacturing Co., Chicago, introduced the Miehle Vertical V-36 in Toronto in 1921, the concept was met with some skepticism by pressmen because of its radical departure from the conventional flat-bed cylinder presses used previously. The Miehle V-36 (3,600 sph) soon won over the press owners and operators and new models soon followed.
